Artist and Activist
Marcy Orendorff is a San Francisco Bay Area artist and writer who has been drawing, painting and creating in mixed media since the 1990's.
Versatile and explorational in approach, her work encompasses a number of styles and media. She has been trained in fine and graphic art, has an interior design certification, as well as a B.S. in Educational Psychology and Social Welfare. Her interior design studies focused on evidence-based health and psychological impacts of art in interiors. She uses that background to inform the art and content she provides for social causes and interior spaces.
She creates color figurative works and interiors in the magical realist style, where the images are recognizable yet fantastic and color-rich. She uses that content as a graphic designer and illustrator to address social issues. Her style and palette reflect the mood and message she wishes to convey.
Marcy's work has been collected and shown in venues throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Her illustrations and design services have been used by numerous Bay Area nonprofits and businesses.
