Boo-Hoo! I Don't Have the Right Stuff
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." - Pablo Picasso
Do you ever feel motivated, just like a kid? And the next thought is -
“I don’t have the right tool, paintbrush, ingredient, shoes, to do that ... “
Like the rest of humanity, I, too, get stopped in my tracks thinking ...
I don't have the right stuff!
I found an interesting approach that anyone can use to make art, one day, when hating my arms. Uh, yes - my arms.
One day, I took a hard look at my beyond-middle-aged arms, and thought, Ugh. Gotta do SOMETHING. But I hate the gym; I’d rather wear sweaters in summer.
So, what could I do – say in one minute - with no equipment and no time? Hmm. Ten girly pushups?
I could only do two. But in two months, I could do 35 , plus a few real ones. And now i had sleeveless-shirt arms.
An Army Approach to Art
Would this approach work with art? I get the urge to be artsy, and then the dread thought, “I have no red paint, no canvas, no brush, no motivation…”
So I took the near no-equipment challenge. But expanded my time to 15 minutes. Here’s what happened.
On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!
Limited Things ( because otherwise the art would be invisible)
Glue & water
An old piece of board
START THE CLOCK! Tick, tick, tick...
