About Marcy
Artist
Marcy Orendorff is a San Francisco Bay Area artist who has been creating art since the 1990's. Energetic color and mark making are her signature style.
WHAT INSPIRES HER Richly colored 1940's travel posters and photos of sleek interiors intrigue her. She trained in graphic art and holds an interior design certification. Her work crosses the discipline of poster design with the experimentation of an inviting interior. HOW ART AFFECTS YOUR BODY AND MIND She's also studied how art changes our feelings and even our body's physiology. Her interior design studies focused on health research, the psychological and physical impacts of design in healthcare interiors. Want to know how art can affect mood? Blood pressure? Stress level? How color and space affects the body? Ask her. GIVING TO THE COMMUNITY With degrees Educational Psychology and Social Welfare, throughout her career, she created specialized series to contribute to social causes. In addition, for seven years she taught literacy skills to special needs children using art-based methods. Marcy's work has been collected and shown in venues throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Her social cause collections have been featured by multiple nonprofits. .
